Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming industries at an unprecedented pace. Tools like ChatGPT are becoming entrenched across various sectors, from customer service interactions to predicting market trends

AI bias refers to the systemic errors or inaccuracies in AI systems that result in unjust outcomes for certain groups of people, either for or against. These biases can stem from multiple sources, including biased data collection, flawed algorithms, or human prejudice encoded into the systems.

While unintentional, AI bias can perpetuate and worsen societal inequality, leading to consequences for businesses and individuals.



One of the main challenges in combating AI bias lies in the data used to train these systems. Historical data often reflects societal biases and prejudices, which can inadvertently seep into AI algorithms.

For instance, when a loan approval algorithm disproportionately rejects loan applications from minority groups, leading to financial exclusion.

Secondly, transparency and accountability are crucial. Businesses should strive for transparency in how AI algorithms operate and make decisions. This includes regularly auditing AI systems and establishing clear protocols for addressing and rectifying biases when identified.
